Join our exceptional team and help us continue to provide the highest quality of health care possible to our communities.New Hires Eligible for ***Sign On Bonus***This is a Collective Bargaining Unit Position.Thank you for considering a career at Mercy HealthThe staff registered nurse in the Medical- Surgical and Sub-Acute Care Unit is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluation of all aspects of care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient on the Medical-Surgical and Sub-Acute Care Units.The RNAssesses each patient and establishes and coordinates a written plan of care consistent with the patient's special needs and significant social and environmental relationshipsCoordinates patient care activities with other nursing staff and ancillary services.Maintains the established standards of nursing practice based on a thorough knowledge of the interrelatedness of body systems and the dynamic nature of the life process.Collaborates with other members of the health care team to coordinate patient care and to support families within the units.Promotes the institution's philosophy, mission and values during all interactions with patients, families, staff and others.Maintains current knowledge of health care issues and nursing practice for the areas which he / she is responsible.Special DemandsAbility to prioritize care and deal with multiple demands or urgent situations in a timely manner.Ability to use technological equipment including but not limited to IV pumps, PCA Pumps, and other medical devices.Algebraic math skills are required to calculate drug dosages and infusion rates of certain drugs.Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and deal effectively with internal and external customersAbility to deal effectively with stressful situations.Qualifications - Minimum Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
