We promote from within and offer fantastic benefits and PTO!THE OPPORTUNITY AT HANDWe're looking for a fully trained Ophthalmic Technician 2 with two years minimum of refracting experience, that is passionate and empathetic to join our team as Ophthalmic Techs. Our Techs are responsible for all the pre-exam elements of the patient visit. This includes gathering and documenting patient information and history and conducting routine and ancillary patient testing. You'll play a vital role in the patients experience with OCLI and in helping our Dr's to diagnose and treat eye disorders.OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOUYou'll test and record patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perceptionYou'll apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect and process specimens for testingYou'll triage emergency cases appropriately into physicians' schedule and maintain patient flowYou'll prepare patient and procedure room and assist ophthalmologist with procedures as neededYou'll perform first level maintenance on equipment and notify the office manager of any equipment malfunctionsYou will be expected to utilize, as appropriate, infection control techniques and universal precautions, and to maintain confidentiality at all timesWHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEEDYou have the ability to work with all specialties and perform all ancillary tasksYou have two years minimum of refracting experienceYou're an excellent communicator - both verbally and writtenYou're outgoing, you love the idea of interacting with patients everydayYou're comfortable providing white glove service and responding quickly to our patients needsYou're a dependable problem solver - you're the one people call to keep cool in stressful situationsYou have a positive, can-do attitude and work well in collaborative environmentsYou're flexible - you roll with the punches and easily accept changeYou're knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology such as anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics and cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories is a PLUS, but not a requirementWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit.
