Your primary tasks will include facilitating daily programming and operation of a STEM-based learning center, support with program planning and curriculum development, and more!The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about or appreciate all things STEM. They will have the technical skills to operate equipment such as 3-D printers or the curiosity to learn it quickly. If so, we offer:A mission focused on connecting low-income households and communities of color to new opportunities that support youth, families, and people on their journeys to start businesses or buy homes.An excellent opportunity for you to make a positive and lasting impact on our communities and those in it.A starting salary of $43,680 per year, paid hourly, and a generous benefits package.This position's primary responsibilities include:Creating and maintaining mutually respectful relationships with the community of the Learning Center.Managing the day-to-day operations, including facilitating daily programming of assigned Learning Center site.Maintaining inventory of all technology and proposing upgrades or new equipment needed based on community feedback and needs.Supporting the Program Manager with touring the space, having programs run in the Learning Center, and finding appropriate training to aid in improved Learning Center utilization.Finding suitable community-based organizations to partner with and maintaining positive and professional relationships with each.Maintaining a calendar of classes and workshops, to aid in the recruitment and engagement of 750 people annually.Our ideal candidate must have:A minimum of two years' experience in an educational setting with your or adults and/or community engagement or program coordination.High school diploma or GED.Reliable transportation to the assigned Learning Center site.Bilingual in Vietnamese, Chinese/Mandarin, Somali, or other language. With the ability to read/write/speak proficiently in English and other language.A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including the occasional evening and weekend.Tech savvy, with the ability to operate or learn to operate AR/VR technology, 3-D Printers; software including MS Office Suite, Adobe CS, databases and other programs.Highly emotionally intelligent; skilled at listening, developing rapport, working cooperatively, creatively, and patiently with colleagues and community members.Possess a solid understanding of the backgrounds and needs of low-income communities.Comfort with discussing technological innovations and initiatives while working in a tech space.Strong administrative organization, with the ability to follow up and follow through on tasks and commitments.It would be great if you also have:An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.Prior experience or desire to work with school-aged children and adults from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds is highly desirable.A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle.Experience with music production or music equipment.Experience with digital design software is a plus!Experience working with 3-D printing and similar technologies.NOTE TO CANDIDATES:Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every single one of the qualifications as described in a job description.
