We are a 3 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.Job SummaryLeonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Software Test Engineer for our Bridgeton, MO facility. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about quality and automation. This position will be developing test plans and procedures as well as creating, maintaining, and improving automation frameworks/infrastructure. In addition, this role will be developing innovative tools to boost our testing efficiency, debug failures, and make it easy to communicate results. This position will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting test automation results. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, detail-oriented, creative, motivated, focused on achieving results. and has worked on software that runs on hardware.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform verification, validation, debugging, and troubleshooting of systems and software within a software development cycleAnalyze and interpret system requirementsDevelop Software Test Plans and ProceduresDevelop Test Procedures and scripts for both formal and informal requirementsExecution of test scripts along with data analysis for requirement verificationRoot cause analysis and defect resolution as neededAbility to support test readiness reviews, formal system verification of the system requirements and final test reports.Recognizes and adopts best practices in documentation, testing and efficient use of resources.Define and develop test automation to drive efficiency and test coverageCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as requiredProvide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnelSupport, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related technical disciplineMinimum of 5 years software verification and validation and/or test automation experience. Specifically testing embedded software running on hardware.U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employmentExperience with shell scripting in Python or similar programExperience in designing and building automation frameworks and/or tools with at least one modern language such as Java, C#, C++, or Python including object-oriented designDeep understanding in software test methodology. Ability to design highly effective test strategies and decompose functional requirements into test casesExcellent troubleshooting skills and creative approach to problem solvingStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a dynamic, customer focused and multidisciplinary environmentExperience creating Test Description Documents and Test ReportsQualifications ContinuedExperience influencing development and Quality Assurance best practices, methodologies, and processesAbility to operate at architecture and code level in order to identify and address testability issuesAbility to work both independently and in a teamExperience working on Linux and/or Unix platforms is preferredExperience with C or C++ in embedded software development is a plusExperience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Development automation pipeline is a plusU.S. Citizenship required.
