At the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position.*_*POSITION DESCRIPTION**The Education and Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluation a staff development program for all facility staff which addresses orientation and inservice training.**QUALIFICATIONS:** *Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree preferred.** *Valid license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state.** *Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility.** *Current CPR registration. Must have or be willing to secure a CPR Instructor Certificate.** *Previous teaching experience or completion of a course of study in adult**education.** *Knowledge of regulatory standards.** *Demonstrated competence in teaching.** *Excellent oral and written communication skills.** *Excellent organizational, motivational and interpersonal skills.**RESPONSIBILITIES:** *Design and coordinate implementation of a comprehensive orientation process for each new facility employee, assuring that each receives general information about the corporation and the facility, as well as information specific to the individual's assigned department/job./*** *Assure orientation is documented and this documentation is inserted in the employee's personnel file./*** *Solicit input concerning the orientation process from department heads and others, as indicated./*** *Work closely with the business office/human resources staff to assure new employees are oriented to personnel/payroll functions, are appropriately enrolled in benefits programs and have a personnel file initiated prior to, or at the time of hire./*** *Design and implement a system for assessing staff inservice education needs./*** *Plan and schedule inservice education sessions to address staff needs./*** *Coordinate annual training for CPR certification and choke-rescue technique for appropriate staff./*** *Assure facility staff receive training specified in state or regulatory requirements./*** *Maintain session outlines and attendance logs for inservice training sessions./*** *Establish a system for all staff to evaluate each inservice session and analyze the evaluation results on a regular basis./*** *Prepare and submit reports on education/staff development activities, as requested./*** *Consult with staff in the design and implementation of competency assessments.** *Act as a resource for staff concerning continuing education opportunities./*** *Participate in the facility quality improvement process./*** *Attend department/facility meetings, as required.** *Assist with preparation for and participate in regulatory surveys./*** *Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to areas of responsibilities./*** *Perform other duties, as assigned.**This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
