We also offer a consistent day shift, Monday-Friday schedule, employee assistance program, free parking, and employee referral program!Position Summary: The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for correcting, completing and processing claims of all payer codes. They are also required to generate reports from the EHR in accordance with established procedures. Work accounts receivables from time dropped to when the payment is received; to include commercial payers, government payers, and self-pay.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information prior to submissionKnowledge of insurance guidelines; especially Medicare and MedicaidFollow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframeCheck each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discountCall insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments, if necessaryIdentify and bill secondary or tertiary insurancesAll accounts are to be reviewed for insurance or patient follow-upAnswer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accountsExperience RequirementsOne (1)+ year experience in a medical setting, dermatology practice preferredEducation, Licensure & Certification RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalentAssociate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Health Care Administration, preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities RequirementsKnowledge of all payer codesKnowledge of medical terminology and billing practicesAbility to communicate in an active multi-office environmentAbility to efficiently operate all job-related office equipmentAbility to follow or provide verbal and written instructionsBasic to intermediate computer operationMathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solvingDetail oriented, professional attitude, reliableSpecialty knowledge of systems relating to job functionSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities
