The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range$91,800.00 - $151,600.00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?We are seeking to hire a motivated and talented Senior Technology engineer to support and manage network connectivity services for Travelers' WAN backbone, global data center interconnects, cloud infrastructure, SDWAN environment, offshore and onshore field offices, as well as inter-business exchange connections in Equinix co-location facilities that provide access to applications and public cloud services in AWS, GCP & Azure. Successful applicant will design, configure, install, test, troubleshoot and maintain the network components leveraging code-based management to support connectivity for 30,000+ employees and business partners with focus on transition to cloud.Under general supervision, demonstrates a thorough understanding of the activities performed related to engineering support, installation and/or operations of infrastructure technologies. Plans at an operational level designing and developing technology solutions interfacing with appropriate customers, management and technical resources. Facilitates and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of large complex technology solutions supporting one or more business and/or technology areas. Develops and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware technologies and tools. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities.What Will You Do?Responsible for design, engineering, configuration, analysis, and troubleshooting of the company's on-prem and cloud network infrastructure and services. This includes switches, routers, firewalls, SDWAN, WAN protocols, and dynamic routing.• Responsible for the implementation of network solutions in any of the following environments to support business applications: Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Global Wide Area Network, Core Data Center Network, Remote/Campus/Offshore Offices, Internet/DMZ, Business to Business connections• Ensure that industry best practices and methodologies are applied to design, deployment and operations of infrastructure technology• Develops tactics and operational plans in alignment with strategic objectives for assigned technologies and projects• Maintain detailed documentation of IT infrastructure• Drives the execution of departmental and corporate programs• Maintain quality and reliability of our network while developing innovative ways to automate• Ensure a high level of availability for network services, monitoring existing hardware/software, network performance and provide prompt response to issues• Build, leverage, and maintain alliances across technical and business communities to achieve efficient and effective results• Collaborate with customer and peers to proactively identify potential issues and areas of improvement in existing network environment• Provide third level of support with troubleshooting issues affecting our network• Contribute to research, evaluation and recommendations of new technologies or redesign of existing solutions• Gaining industry experience and exposure to seed new ideas with respect to the company's best interests• Present findings, updates and recommendations to all levels of management, up to and including C level executivesDefault from the system• Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming specifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions.• Prioritizes work and manages projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.• Responsible for establishing and managing to established quality control and security protocols.• Provides the division, department and business area management with timely and accurate information regarding the status and performance of the assigned project(s).What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Five years of experience in Technology preferred.Experience providing technical direction to project teams preferred.Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred.Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills:Foundational IT InfrastructureOperating SystemsSoftwareKnowledge of process discipline and IDLC methodologyWhat is a Must Have?A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, required.Three years of experience in Technology required.What Is in It for You?Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members - including spouses, domestic partners, and children - are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
