The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range$123,000.00 - $203,000.00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?As a member of Enterprise Technology Services, you'll be joining a strategic and collaborative Architecture team that is passionate about transforming our business and technology capabilities and paving the way for best-in-class solutions. As an Architect within the Business Insurance architecture organization, you will collaborate with Engineers, Technology and Business leaders and apply your knowledge of modern technology to influence and innovate solutions that impact the business. In this role we will look to you to:• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Business Architects, Line of business engineers and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR, DataBricks and Snowflake.• Help us to build solutions by delivering on technical engagements with partners and customers.• Partner with cloud and security architects, data and software engineers to implement cutting-edge but pragmatic solutions that will enable business outcomes using a combination of deep technical skills, business acumen, and strong interpersonal skills.• Help the program team to deliver by leveraging cloud native and enterprise approved cloud tools and technologies.• Help in engagements to migrate applications and datasets to AWS cloud.• Innovate by working with the customer's business and technology stakeholders.• Create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise for Business Insurance.• Guide through your hands on experience leading large-scale global data lake/warehousing and analytics projects.• Guide delivery organization for modeling and standardizing the data for analytics.• Help to establish governance and control processes to ensure successful and healthy data platform implementation.What Will You Do?Build implementation patterns using your expertise and background on AWS cloud natives capabilities such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR and Snowflake.Deliver solutions on technical engagements with partners and customers.Perform Proof of Concept/s on technologies and services to support business needs.Share learnings from your past large-scale global data lake/warehousing and analytics projects.Collaborate effectively across organizations.Educate and choose right types of datastores for the use case (NoSQL, SQL databases, Object File stores, etc.)Create blue prints and assist in engineering designs leveraging AWS Serverless and data services.Exhibit customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs and best practices.Interact with different levels of the organization from development to C-Level executivesEnsure data standards and modeling principles are followed in the data solutions and platforms.Manage and Monitor the data quality of the content in the data architecture and platforms.Balance tactical vs strategic trade-offs when making decisions or proposing solutions.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Bachelor's in technology related field or equivalent with 5+ years of technology Engineering experienceHands on experience with DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR, Snowflake, NoSQL, SQL databases, Object File stores, etc.)Organizational experience in an agile operating modelEstablished work in proof of concepts and technologyStrong proven Software Engineering experienceSupports technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short- and Long-term business goalsInsurance technology experience desiredStrong grasp of value creation and business capability modelsInnovation and Continuous ImprovementMust be passionate about technology transformationsHas hands on experience in the last 3 yearsExecuted technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API StrategyCurrent experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOpsCloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on CloudGood understanding of securityExperienced with large scale technology platformsExposure and understanding of advanced analytics techniques using ML and AIHands on experience with data technologies on cloudWhat is a Must Have?Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience.Five years of experience in engineering software or analytic applications within a line of business areaWhat Is in It for You?Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members - including spouses, domestic partners, and children - are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
