**$2,000 Sign-On Bonus**JOB STATUS: Full time (40 hours/week), 12 months, Non-Union positionLOCATION: Marshall, MN/Willmar, MNRESPONSIBILITIES:The Grant Accountant provides accounting support to UCAP in processing grants/contracts; the monthly accounting cycle; to include General Ledger postings; preparation of financial reporting; and audit preparation responsibilities.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:• Grant/Contract Process• General Ledger and Month End Processes• Financial Reporting• Miscellaneous responsibilities/General Accounting Responsibilities• Other duties as assigned• Support and model UCAP's Behavioral CompetenciesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and 3-5 years' experience or combination of education and experience.KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:• Prior work experience and understanding of grant funding, grant budgeting, grant billing, grant accounting, and grant closeouts using federal and state rules and regulations governing grants administration.• Familiarity with OMB regulations on the use of grants under federal requirements.• Ability to analyze and systematically compile financial information to prepare correspondence and reports.• Ability to interpret federal, state, and local government laws and regulations related to grant contracts and administration; Strong background in analytical functions including financial analysis and funds control.• Strong knowledge of general accounting practices and principles, including GAAP and fund accounting. Demonstrated budgeting and financial analysis skills.• Working knowledge of various computer accounting systems and applications, to include MS Office. Ability to learn new computer applications.• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with constant multiple deadlines.
