Quality Assurance Director

Job Description Gpac is currently working with a food manufacturer in southern Indiana who is searching for a Quality Assurance Director! Business is booming and the company is going through rapid growth! They have two facilities at this location running 24/7 across 3 shifts, plus a third one that is almost completed! Employees are well-rewarded for their efforts, and it's a fun, team-oriented place to work, complete with free lunch on Mondays! *Candidates for this position must have strong USDA background, with experience in either meat processing or RTE environments* Duties and Responsibilities: Implement and maintain QC policies, procedures, and directives to ensure compliance with company, customer, and government expectations, providing feedback and follow-up for corrective actions. Lead the plant's SQF certification program. Perform customer audits and annual SQF audits. Develop and maintain the HACCP plan and train plant personnel on quality programs. Communicate with USDA regarding preoperational or operational inspections. Develop and maintain quality control systems/programs, including Pest Control, Self-Inspection, Supplier Management, Safety, Microbiological Testing, and Defense. Conduct pre-shipment reviews, CCPs, validation studies, and report deficiencies for GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs. Perform microbiological tests on finished products, environmental, and direct food contact surfaces. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university. Five-plus years of quality control management experience in a RTE or meat processing environment. HACCP Certification (preferred). SQF Certification (preferred). Real USDA experience. Experience with multi-location operations a plus. Strong computer skills, analytical abilities, and experience with equipment and food-processing equipment. Knowledge of quality control processes related to the food-processing industry. Familiarity with quality process control, HACCP, SSOP, and SOP. Knowledge of USDA and FDA standards.
