Title: Construction Manager Location: Davey, Nebraska - travel to job sites is required. Pay: Negotiable based on experience Job Description: Act as the Owner's representative to oversee all aspects of plant and facilities construction, including interconnect, site work, owner-purchased material, safety, startup and commissioning, and project closeout. This position is responsible for the overall management of the team and assigned projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role coordinate and manage construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. They also manage the engineering, procurement, and construction oversight activities necessary to construct, start up, and commence commercial operations. Job Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with resources and sub-suppliers across various disciplines to determine project priorities, schedules, and work plans to meet milestones. Manage sub-tier suppliers according to the requirements outlined in contracts or purchase orders as the lead manager and administrator. Manage onsite company representative staff (Inspectors). Report daily, weekly, and monthly on progress, indicators, and recovery plans to upper management. Ensure projects are implemented efficiently, effectively, and safely in accordance with department procedures, local regulations, contracts, and policies. Verify constructability, ensure proper resource allocations, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed. Lead project meetings and review budget, schedule, quality, risk tracker, and contingency allocations. Interface with the project's designated management committees or third parties, acting as the lead company representative for project activities. Manage execution requirements stipulated in the Interconnect Agreement, Purchase Power Agreement, and Independent System Operator to achieve back-feed, sync, and commercial operation. Manage walk-down of planned work, validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements, and approve contractor payment requests. Supervise and/or coordinate activities or groups, such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, analysis, and contract administration. Preferred Background: Engineering, Construction Management, or a professional career in construction with experience in industrial or power markets. A background in electrical and utilities is preferred Required Skillsets: People management Organizational skills Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Communication with third parties and executives Understanding of scheduling and planning Knowledge of construction means and methods Knowledge of management means and methods EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
