We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Grounds Superintendent to lead our client's amazing team of 14+ grounds staff at their beautiful 100-acre cemetery in Fresno, CA. What You'll Do: Lead with Heart : Supervise, guide, and inspire our grounds team, helping them grow and thrive. Team Coordination : Manage schedules, breaks, and payroll, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Team Building : Hire, train, and support team members, providing regular feedback and celebrating achievements. Problem Solving : Address challenges with a positive mindset, finding solutions that benefit the team and our visitors. Daily Operations : Plan and assign daily tasks, ensuring our grounds are maintained to the highest standard. Open Communication : Keep the lines of communication clear between your team and upper management. Mentorship : Be a mentor, supporting the personal and professional growth of each team member. Integrity : Uphold honesty and transparency in every interaction. Forward Thinking : Analyze situations, anticipate needs, and offer creative solutions. What We're Looking For: Education & Experience : Bachelor's degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, or horticulture preferred, OR 5+ years in a leadership role in groundskeeping. Hands-On Knowledge : Confident working with equipment like backhoes, excavators, forklifts, Bobcats, and more. Budget Savvy : Experience in managing budgets and procurement of supplies. Green Thumb : General knowledge of tree management, pruning, turf maintenance, and irrigation. Mechanical Skills : Basic understanding of maintaining and repairing grounds equipment. Communication Skills : Experience handling public inquiries and resolving concerns. Attention to Detail : Skilled in selecting and applying fertilizers, pesticides, and other essentials to keep our grounds vibrant and healthy.
