Safety Director Our client is seeking a dedicated Safety Director to oversee and enhance our safety protocols within the waste coal mining sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees through the development and implementation of robust safety measures and training programs. Focus: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs and initiatives that align with industry regulations and company standards. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Lead and coordinate safety training sessions for all employees to ensure a thorough understanding of safety practices and regulations. Manage and review documentation and reporting related to safety incidents and compliance measures. Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues, providing guidance and leadership to ensure safe work practices. Collaborate with management to continually assess and improve safety policies and procedures. Skill Set: Minimum of five years of experience in mining, heavy manufacturing, or industrial settings, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in the coal mining industry. Possession of Pennsylvania Surface Coal Foreman certification is highly preferred. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards. Demonstrated strong work ethic with a commitment to achieving workplace safety objectives. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving situations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively training and leading diverse teams. Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations, including MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) standards. Experience with safety compliance auditing and risk assessment. Ability to develop and implement strategic safety plans and initiatives. Strong analytical skills to interpret safety data and provide recommendation.
