Manager of Electric Transmission Development

The Manager of Electric Transmission Development will lead business expansion efforts for Northwestern Energy's regional transmission objectives. This role involves overseeing internal and external transmission development projects, including feasibility assessments, project evaluations, financial discussions, and contract formulation. The manager will cultivate strategic partnerships and finalize contracts to advance transmission capacity and growth. Additionally, they will manage early-stage project development and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. Effective management practices will be utilized to maintain employee engagement and productivity. The manager will also lead and seek strategic development opportunities to support the company's transmission capacity vision. Responsibilities include compiling and writing business reports, presentations, and other materials, coordinating with other functional areas to plan and execute company objectives, and developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Periodic updates to senior management will also be provided. Must Haves: • 7+ years of Electric transmission development experience • 1+ year of managerial experience • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering or related experience required • Strong understanding of West Coast transmissions. • Mix of business development skills, soft skills, and professionalism. • High-level understanding of transmission technical aspects. • Large high voltage electrical experience • Experience with FERC and WECC. • Ability to rely on financials and forecasting support.
