This job is with a company that specializes in custom engineering of automated solutions for various industries, such as packaging, material handling and more. Responsibilities & Duties: · Design custom automated systems tailored to diverse environments while adhering to cost and labor constraints. · Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team, Sales, and other departments to develop project feasibility plans and establish a clear path to success. · Oversee the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications. · Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed designs, drawings, and models for mechanical components, assemblies, and structures. · Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews to validate the viability and effectiveness of proposed mechanical solutions. · Partner with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, shop technicians, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall project designs. · Communicate technical requirements, project timelines, and design considerations effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners. · Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team. Minimum Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant industry experience. · At least 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specializing in machine/system design, development, and integration. · Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and occasional use of simulation tools. · Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and deliver effective solutions. · Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. · Proven leadership skills, including experience managing cross-functional teams and driving project success. Preferred Qualifications: · Advanced degree (Master's in Engineering, MBA, or related field). · 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on machine/system design, development, and integration. · Background in a custom automation integrator or machine builder environment. · Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers to foster talent development within the organization.
