The Omega Studios' School of Applied Recording Arts and Sciences is a small but active private career school in Rockville, MD, part of the Washington, DC area. Since 1977, Omega has trained recording engineers for the music production and motion picture industries. This person is responsible for the administration of the student financial aid program including the awarding, disbursement and reconciliation of federal, state, local and institutional funds. Essential Job Functions Packages incoming students in all aspects of financial aid Awards Pell grants, Direct Loans, PLUS loans, VA benefits, Talbot grants, institutional scholarships, and private loans. Calculates refunds and repayments for students who drop out of school. Prepares disbursement and refund rosters Monitors overpayments and credit balances resulting from financial aid Reconciles student receivables accounts with the Business Office Monitors Satisfactory Academic Progress at the end of each term for financial aid students Maintains Financial Aid data and ensures timely and accurate submission of reports to federal and state authorities, auditors, and accreditors. Serves as Liaison with federal and state agencies, auditors and accreditors on issues related to Financial Aid Maintains office Policies and Procedures manual as it relates to financial aid programs Conducts interviews and delivers financial aid workshops to students and prospective students Ensures compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and standards of accreditation Other tasks as assigned by the Director Qualifications Financial aid experience at the college or career school level Familiarity with federal regulations and standards of accreditation Proficiency in EdConnect, EdExpress, COD, Microsoft Office Suite and general computer operations Fluency in English Effective communication skills, verbal and written Ability to proactively manage multiple tasks, work independently, and achieve goals Ability to collaborate effectively with others This is an in-office, full-time position.
