Job Description Under general supervision, creates purchase orders. Verifies specifications of purchase requests and obtains prices and delivery. Responsible for entering and maintaining costing and promotion information into the costing database system for use in purchase order generation and internal work documents. Provides support for field and internal merchandising personnel and communicates with suppliers on pricing and promotional information. Functions as a team member within the department and cross-functions, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company. Ensures the data integrity of the costing database by reviewing input and output information for accuracy. Investigates and corrects problems causing incorrect input or output by reviewing edit reports, input documents, and online system screens, and by developing query reports. Aids in ongoing Accounts Payable (AP) match issues, working with field and internal merchandising personnel and suppliers for a resolution. Communicates with manufacturer representatives/brokers on pricing and/or promotional information. Communicates effectively in verbal and written format. Reviews and distributes promotion information for approval, and expedites new item requests and item changes. Provides ongoing training to field merchandising personnel on aspects of promotion maintenance, E3 utilization, and other costing functions. Organizes and maintains vendor information in corporate files including supplier setup and maintenance, supplier contact, and fact sheet maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience Required Experience 1 - 2 Years in Purchasing and purchasing systems. Preferred Qualifications Associates/2-year technical: Procurement, business, or related area Preferred Experience 2 - 4 Years in Purchasing and purchasing systems within the foodservice industry.
