Employment Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF) Vacancy ID: NF0008799 Salary Range: Based on qualifications/experience, internal equity, and departmental budget restrictions Position Summary/Description: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Associate Director of Annual Giving, Direct Marketing for Schools and Units will plan and implement the overall strategy for annual giving programs for many UNC schools and units. The Associate Director will contribute and implement an overall outreach strategy to renew, retain, and acquire donors through direct marketing strategies as needed to support school and unit annual giving programs. The Associate Director will serve as a subject matter expert on the direct marketing industry and provide consultation to the schools and units. Education and Experience: Experience using design tools, including Adobe Premier products, is preferred. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Blackbaud CRM preferred. Experience with donor CRMs (Blackbaud), marketing automation platforms (Salesforce), crowdfunding platforms (Community Funded), project management tools (Asana), and commercial printing/production processes is preferred. Experience in Direct Marketing and higher education experience is preferred. Essential Skills: Knowledgeable of strategies that will target annual giving prospects, alumni, and donors for the schools/units. Ability to establish strong and positive working relationships within University Development and with colleagues, donors, and contacts campus-wide. Ability to independently communicate complex topics to both internal and external individuals. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external audiences. Editing skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple competing projects simultaneously. Superior customer service skills for school and unit clients. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneDrive, and Teams), and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube). A high energy level and strong drive to be successful. Ability to think logically and strategically.
