Job Location: United States Job Location Type: Remote Job Contract Type: Full-time Job Seniority Level: Mid-Senior level Job Description Alkermes, Inc is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) level candidate to join the Field Medical function for Alkermes' sleep program. The Sr. MSL is responsible for establishing a respected and valued presence for Alkermes with researchers and thought leaders working in sleep disorders. They will engage in fair and balanced scientific exchange and respond to requests for information about Alkermes products and diseases of interest with key stakeholders. The Sr MSL will increase awareness and participation in clinical trials through cross-functional collaboration with clinical operations colleagues. Through a thorough understanding of national and regional experts, they will gain insight into treatment patterns and trends that will be shared internally to shape strategy. Candidates applying for this position must have the ability to take initiative, work independently requiring minimal supervision, and excel at cross-functional coordination. This position is within the Alkermes Medical Affairs department. Responsibilities Identify, establish, and maintain productive clinical and scientific relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs) including individual physicians and researchers Collaborate with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations key stakeholders to increase awareness and participation in Alkermes ongoing clinical trials as needed Maintain comprehensive knowledge of thought leaders within the region and develop a territory management plan Appropriately respond to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information Provide clinical presentations and educational information in academic, community and healthcare provider settings Attend and provide Medical Affairs support at scientific conferences Support internal stakeholders by providing subject matter expertise Act as primary conduit for scientific advisors or investigators interested in developing research collaborations with Alkermes Share insights from the field with appropriate internal colleagues Maintain and update knowledge and expertise on therapeutic areas relevant to Alkermes Adhere to all Alkermes policies and procedures QualificationsRequired: Doctoral level required in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biological Sciences, or Public Health (i.e., Pharm.D., M.D., Ph.D.) Minimum of 5-7 years as a high performing Medical Science Liaison Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently while being responsive to direction Strong leadership skills and positive, innovative attitude Flexible to changing priorities, detail-oriented, and works well under pressure Outstanding collaboration skills Experience supporting clinical trials Willingness to travel (up to 75%) Preferred: Pharmaceutical industry, clinical, or research experience in the sleep or similar therapeutic area Experience with pre-launch support Ability to read, interpret, and convey complex scientific information Experience and knowledge of Phase II-III clinical development Ability to successfully navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, guidelines, standards, and practices Experience leading formally or informally in a team environment Demonstrated results orientation and problem-solving skills About Us Alkermes applies its deep neuroscience expertise to develop medicines designed to help people living with complex and difficult-to-treat psychiatric and neurological disorders.
