Icon Sales Director - Italian Brands Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates. Locations: (East Coast Markets, 50% NY/Tri-States) Position Summary: The role of this Icon Sales Director, Italian Brands must be based in the New York area and will focus on the New York and Tri-state markets to increase the volume of sales and brand awareness across the different markets and strategic channels. Work closely with the Marketing and Sales Team and utilize relevant aspects of the marketing plans and strategy to increase client base and drive sales. Represent the Italian brands in a style and manner set by the Marketing Director / Manager and Suppliers with a goal of building a strong client network to increase sales of the Italian brands assigned. The right candidate will be high energy and possess a dynamic and charismatic personality, have a deep and knowledgeable understanding of Italian wine and experience working with Italian winemakers/winery owners. Position Responsibilities: Develop relationships with key influencers in key On and Off independent accounts. Work closely with the NAMs to ensure Italian wine placements and gain market share. Manage and drive distribution of the Italian portfolio. Collaborate with the Marketing Director to define and execute the sales strategy. Manage supplier and distributor relationships. Work with the broader sales team in education, training and setting sales strategies. Collaborate with pricing and inventory. Improve visibility and merchandising of Italian Brands. Raise the profile of the brand within the trade and consumer community. Generate incremental sales volume. Brand & Marketing: In close coordination with the Marketing Teams, provide operational feedback, develop exclusive offers, and build tools to drive direct sales. Build trust and maintain relationships with our Italian Wine suppliers. Work within the assigned budgets to create value in Italian wines. Working in collaboration with the Marketing team to manage supplier travel, market visits, events and overall supplier relationships for our Italian brands. Co-Lead and actively manage Quarterly Business Reviews for the Italian Brands. Be a spokesperson for the brands with ability to conduct master classes, education training and travel host for the trade, consumers and/or media. Working closely with the brand director/manager, help to develop effective marketing programs and go-to-market selling strategies. Strategic Partnership & Consumer Engagement: Develop new or strengthen existing partnerships, US global deals, and business opportunities. Strategize across Partnerships to drive incremental cross-divisional revenue opportunities. Recruit new consumers to brands through event opportunities, Luxury partners, networking, education. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with sommeliers, wine buyers, account managers, account owners and other decision makers. Educate the retail and wholesale trade to drive distribution, improve visibility and increase sales. Increase in-account portfolio visibility with merchandising materials and menu list placements. Work with key accounts to develop customized programs that drive consumer trial and sales volume. Execute educational outreach to local and national media, partner agencies and partner luxury brands. Develop business to business relationships that result in incremental volume added placements. Provide feedback concerning brand positioning, competitive activities and market trends. Provide input regarding future marketing plan development. Ensure timely and accurate review and submission of expenses, invoices, and reporting. Follow T&E and A&P budgets. Requirements and Skills: This role is based in NY and must live in the New York area. Must be fluent in Italian/English. Extensive travel within the NY and TriStates (East Coast). This role requires evenings and weekends on occasion. Experience selling Italian wines required. Must possess strong listening skills, and outstanding sales skills including closing the sale and overcoming objections. Professional image, positive attitude, high energy and charismatic personality. Must be a self-starter, ability to multitask, and able to work independently and meet goals and deadlines. Requires a high level of integrity, self-confidence, and have an excellent ability to build relationships while providing outstanding customer service. Outstanding presentation and writing skills. Experience planning/coordinating events, and outstanding time management skills. Must have reliable transportation to visit accounts within region. Required Education/Experience: BA in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent experience. 5-7+ years of experience selling wines through multi-tiered distribution channels, including experience selling Italian brands. Wine education or certification (WSET or SWE preferred). Physical: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel including overnight stays both domestic and international. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
