Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Internal Communications Manager is a new position, responsible for developing and implementing internal communications strategies that inform and connect the Atlanta Botanical Garden's 350+ full- and part-time employees. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and collaborative problem-solver, able to work effectively with leadership and staff across multiple departments in two Garden locations (Midtown Atlanta and Gainesville, GA). The Internal Communications Manager will have a key role in cultivating a strong organizational culture grounded in the Garden's Mission, Vision and Values. This position is based in Atlanta, GA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure staff and volunteers are informed, motivated, and aligned with the Garden's mission and goals. Work with Marketing, Human Resources and IT to develop an Intranet platform that will serve as a valuable resource for Garden staff. Create and refine internal processes that facilitate resource/knowledge sharing, communication and collaboration. Build strong relationships with internal teams, understanding their communications needs and developing concrete plans to address them. Establish feedback mechanisms to gather input and insights from employees, and use this information to refine communication strategies and practices. Create compelling content for internal communications platforms. Collaborate with Conservation, Horticulture and Programs teams to develop resources that equip Garden staff and volunteers to tell the Garden's story more effectively. Collaborate with Human Resources on initiatives (including regular staff meetings and events) that foster a positive and thriving culture in alignment with the Garden's mission, vision and values. Required Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic communications plans. Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to listen and synthesize information from a variety of sources. Ability to manage both urgent deadlines and long-range projects simultaneously. Effective writer and communicator across multiple channels. Experience creating, managing and maintaining an employee Intranet platform. Strong project management skills, able to work with internal stakeholders and outside agencies to set timelines and ensure deadlines are met. Qualifications: Four-year degree in public relations, marketing, communications or a related field; Minimum five years professional experience in internal communications; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of internal departments across a complex organization.
