The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure seeks a Director for the Construction Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assuring the maintenance of the comprehensive close-out database; creating, conducting research, and writing Standard Operations Procedures (SOP); participating in the development and implementation of major agency and division procedures; ensuring timely preparation and review of As-Built drawings and the processing of Time Extensions; coordinating the daily task workflow of the team relating to the Construction Contracts, Consultant Resident Engineering Inspector (REI) Contracts, Task Orders, Force Accounts, Surveying and As-Builts for the five boroughs; and tracking, monitoring, and processing retainage release payments for construction contractors after maintenance and guarantee inspections. Additionally, the Director will provide lump sum costs for the preparation of As-Builts for the Consultant Resident Engineering Inspector (REI) Task Orders. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the planning, administering or expediting of engineering design, and/or construction, or coordinating a very large engineering project, two years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and nine years of experience as described in "1" above; two years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; or 3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. One year of experience credit will be given for: (a) each 30 semester credits of college or university education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration; (b) An accredited Master's degree in one of the disciplines described in "1" above; (c) a Juris Doctor degree, or (d) a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or Landscape Architect. However, all candidates must have the two years of the administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Preferred Skills Candidates should possess robust supervisory and management skills, outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, design experience in infrastructure projects such as sewers, water mains, and roadworks. Knowledge of NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and NYCDEP specifications, familiarity with MUTCD and AASHTO standards, a comprehensive understanding of NYC's street infrastructure, and acquaintance with contemporary engineering practices and standards are essential. Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling and possession of the Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential is advantageous.
