Area of Consideration: Open to the Public Position Status: Full-Time, Regular Pay Plan, Series & Grade: ES0000/3 Salary Range: Commensurate with rank and experience Closing Date: Open Until Filled Location: 4200 Connecticut Ave., NW Brief Description of Duties: The University of the District of Columbia, College of Arts and Sciences, Division of Education, Health and Social Work invites applications for a MSW Associate/Full Professor Field Work Director for a new hybrid MSW program. The MSW Program Field Work Director is a nine-month full-time tenure track faculty appointment, with a required additional two months of summer work (at 22% compensation) in Social Work with a preferred start of January 2025. The University of the District of Columbia is a public, Historically Black College and University (HBCU) comprehensive university with an urban land-grant distinction. It is the District of Columbia's only public institution of higher education. UDC has historically been a minority-serving institution. The University services approximately 3,000 students across its two-year baccalaureate, masters, and professional programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate all aspects of the Field Work education experiences and teach in graduate courses in the MSW program. Assist Field Work students and field agencies in meeting the learning standards and educational requirements of the Field Work experience. Develop, build, maintain and evaluate collaborative relationships with field agencies. Support candidacy and accreditation efforts, including data collection and reporting. Coordinate and deliver student and Field Work instructor orientation. Develop and maintain Field Work policies/procedures, manual and other documents. Teach practice Field Work and other MSW courses. Maintain an active scholarship agenda, including publishing articles, pursuing external funding and engaging in collaborative research that includes student participation. Engage in recruitment, retention and advisement of MSW students. Provide active service to the community, profession, Program and University. Perform additional assigned tasks to enhance the quality of the program. Minimum Job Requirements: Licensed as a social work practitioner (or eligible to apply for Licensure) in the District of Columbia. A DSW or PhD in Social Work preferred or closely related field. A Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education accredited institution. A minimum of two years of post-master's practice experience in social work. Previous experience with supervising undergraduate and/or graduate social work Field Work. Demonstrated record of scholarly production, including practice-related research. Demonstrated ability to engage in interprofessional collaborations and Field Work experiences across disciplines with community partners and professional organizations. Demonstrated experience with the social work accreditation or reaffirmation process. Demonstrated experience in on-line curriculum design and development for Field Work education, including utilization of experiential teaching methods. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to engage with diverse groups and show sensitivity to variations across age, gender, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, language, culture, national origin, and prior training and educational experience. Ability to provide leadership in the field education program through practice experience, Field Work instruction experience, and administrative and/or other relevant academic professional activities in social work.
