CREATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR / ON-AIR HOST, Life 107.1, KNWI (Des Moines, IA) The Creative Services Director / On-Air Host is a full-time position responsible for creating and delivering daily content for an on-air show that complements and enhances the ministry of Life 107.1 and provides professional production elements for the station to assist in accomplishing the mission of leading people to Christ and nurturing believers in their spiritual growth. CREATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR Produce underwriting spots, station promos, and day partner spots as assigned and monitor for timeliness and quality. Under supervision of Program Director, execute station image writing & production. Edit recorded phone calls as assigned by the Program Director for future use during fundraisers and on-air promotional spots. Complete all assigned production material in a timely manner. Upload files to NexGen/Zetta and podcasts to website and podcast feed as directed. Assist with written content, video, and audio for station web and social media sites as needed. ON-AIR HOST Host on-air show, aligned with the station mission, vision, and strategy as assigned by Program Director. Prepare daily for assigned air shift to develop relevant and relatable topics to the strategic target of the station. Host music segments in accordance with music policy and stated format. Write and deliver news, traffic, and weather reports as needed. Coordinate and conduct interviews with relevant artists/authors/community initiatives. Participate in regular coaching/aircheck sessions. Engage with listeners via social media sites. Participate in on- and off-air fundraising activities and station events. Demonstrate passion for the Des Moines and central Iowa community by being a friendly and welcoming presence to listeners at assigned community events which, at times, will be outside normal working hours. Act as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ by actively partnering with the University to disciple students and lead people to Christ. What will it take to succeed in this position? Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous broadcasting, public speaking, or related experience preferred. Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with listeners in a caring and kind manner. Strong on-air skills with ability to effectively communicate spiritual truths. Ability to plan and execute an entertaining air-shift incorporating production elements and promos. Ability to respond in a professional manner in time-sensitive situations. Ability to work in both a team environment and independently. Self-starter with ability to work in an organized fashion and complete projects accurately within deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to host events, speak in public, and represent the station in a variety of settings. Ability to work a flexible schedule as it pertains to special events. Ability to secure and maintain a valid driver's license. Knowledge and understanding of programming clocks and schedules. Knowledge and understanding of legal and technical aspects of broadcasting. Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment. Work Environment: The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian owned and operated radio station alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
