Job Title: Instructional Designer Location(s): Livermore, CA Job Description: Partner with PG&E's team to conceptualize training design and content. Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments. Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems. Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions. Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience. Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings. Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback. Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks. Required Skills: 3+ years' experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training in a technical environment. Experience developing training for utility industry. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies. Ability to work on at least 2 WBTs simultaneously. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Clear, concise, and welcoming communication style. Experience working with a minimum of 3 subject matter experts for a single project. Prior experience writing assessment questions and creating exams. Prior experience using Articulate Storyline to create WBTs (ideally has developed at least 3 WBTs). Demonstrates critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to address client requests. Eagerly participates in team building and feedback exercises. Prioritizes team and client collaboration.
