N Position Type: Management JOB SUMMARY Bonus Eligible Functions as the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including managing general property performance, food and beverage operations, sales and marketing strategy, profitability, revenue generation, human resources activities, and delivering a return on investment to both Marriott International and ownership. Leads the team in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies. Ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives to meet or exceed guest expectations. Builds relationships with key customers and is involved in the sales process. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience: • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4 years' experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area. OR • 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years' experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area. JOB SPECIFIC TASKS Managing Property Operations: Ensures service programs are in place and executed against (e.g., Refreshing Business, Service Snapshots, Service So Memorable, etc.). Provides timely feedback to management and associates on service and operational standards. Manages the flow of labor between departments to support effective management of Labor Budget and profitability goals. Creates and supports clear lines of responsibility for management team. Prepares for QA audits. Reviews and follows up on property GSS scores and comments. Acts as a project manager for capital improvements. Walks the property to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met. Manages the implementation of major brand standards. Delegates responsibilities for operations and projects to appropriate associates. Managing Food and Beverage Operations: Monitors Food and Beverage forecasting and par levels to reduce waste and maximize profit margins. Provides timely feedback to management and associates on service and operational standards. Establishes and leverages local vendor relationships. Ensures bar and kitchen meet quality standards. Conducts compliance audits with Back of House associates. Provides coaching on operations and troubleshooting technology components. Managing and Sustaining Sales and Marketing Strategy: Works with the Regional Sales office to implement sales strategy. Establishes property sales strategy, goals, and action plans. Identifies creative marketing solutions that fit the brand and property needs. Participates in property sales review. Manages relationships with decision makers at top accounts. Develops innovative means for capturing new revenue streams. Interacts with in-house guests to prospect for new business. Ensures direct sales staff utilizes e-tools. Coaches and reinforces associate selling strategies. Monitors sales strategy with RSO for ongoing effectiveness. Managing Profitability: Manages controllable costs associated with operations. Measures and communicates property performance. Updates and communicates profit forecasts. Initiates action to support revenue and profitability goals. Reviews invoices and property performance. Maintaining Revenue Management Goals: Manages the relationship with the revenue management office. Reviews and works with revenue management reports. Balances inventory to ensure same-day sellouts. Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities: Leads associates through property changes. Conducts day-to-day Human Resource transactions. Cascades training to associates. Facilitates cross-training for professional growth. Monitors local hiring and compensation trends. Conducts performance review process for associates. Supports recruitment efforts from various sourcing channels. Actively recruits and hires qualified associates. Managing Relationships with Property Stakeholders: Keeps stakeholders updated on property performance. Prepares and presents reports for owners. Conducts annual business reviews. Participates in owner conference calls. Additional Responsibilities: Participates in conference calls. Provides follow-up information to management. Prepares for management visits. The salary range for this position is $94,000 to $118,000 annually.
