JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for identifying growth opportunities across both the public and private sectors - including but not limited to corporate, other related non-profits, education, government, and consulting. Oversees strategic cross-organizational efforts (both direct reports and indirect reports) to lead and assist Braille Institute in identifying and securing new business opportunities that will grow revenue, customer base, and/or brand awareness. Provides oversight and direction to the Strategic Partnership team and associated employees on a variety of business development activities, including proposal and budget development, client relations, and account management. Evaluates business opportunities and potential markets, analyzes financial feasibility studies, and researches the market. Plans, implements, and evaluates outcomes of the partnerships developed to advance the strategic plan, incorporating the "flywheel" concept throughout. Influences and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify new partnership opportunities and produce winning solutions to enable acquisition of new partnerships. Manages Director of Institutional Giving and coordinates with Institutional Giving division of development department. Demonstrated success at cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and collaborating at all levels within the organization to achieve results. Demonstrated success with direct fundraising, including corporate and government funds. CAREER TRACK LEADING TO THIS POSITION: Competitive candidates will bring a track record of excellence in senior leadership positions, ideally from nonprofit organizations recognized for their commitment to clients and providing exemplary and impactful partnerships. In addition to demonstrable team leadership experience, the following experiences or competencies are desirable: Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning and innovation within teams and across the organization. Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience working with functional, matrixed, and business unit organizations. Experience working in a philanthropy-driven non-profit organization with a strong "culture of philanthropy". Experience working with people with disabilities. Experience with and a strong commitment to applying an equity lens to the work and a track record of centering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access as organizational values. Project management skills and a proven record of accomplishment in managing complex projects, including timeline coordination, budgeting, and resource allocation. Robust experience forming, managing, and sustaining high impact partnerships with organizations (for-profit, non-profit, and government) to significantly grow service delivery, revenue, or brand exposure. Ability to create compelling pitch decks; lead pitch meetings and related strategy discussions with external senior executives. Extensive fundraising experience from corporations and foundations is required. Experienced working at C-suite and executive levels with partners and potential partners.
