Director of Outreach & Engagement

Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Director of Outreach and Engagement to work with the University Advancement team and the entire Pitt State community to strengthen relationships with alumni and friends by creating new programs and enhancing current programs to engage with alumni and friends of the University. Duties and Responsibilities of Position 65% Strategize, plan, and coordinate alumni and constituent programming and events. This includes management of events from start to finish; while also staffing, executing, presenting, and marketing programming and events. Strictly follow a planning timeline and provide appropriate feedback on the success of programming and events. Serve as the primary monitor and content creator of Alumni & Constituent Relations' social media accounts, including but not limited to, Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn. Use digital marketing efforts including social media, internet, email campaigns, and phone systems to market programming and events, as well as create printed materials and mail pieces. Create alumni spotlight/feature to celebrate our alumni and share via digital marketing efforts in a consistent manner. Work with the alumni database to keep alumni records current and accurate. Update events log in database for event attendees following events. Work closely with alumni, volunteers, students, staff, and the campus community to promote the office and its programming. Assist with coordination and preparation of major events, including but not limited to Alumni Awards, Half-Century Reunion, Gorilla Gatherings, Homecoming, Taste of Pittsburg, GorillaFest, and GoPitt!Fest. Implement International Ambassador Program and cultivate relationships with and engage international alumni. Create and implement strategies for engaging affinity groups. Work with faculty and staff for outreach and programming. Create and implement Gus' Legacy program to celebrate alumni children with a continued timeline of outreach. Create and implement Grandparents' University as an engagement with alumni and recruitment efforts. 20% Serve as co-advisor of Advancement Ambassadors and coordinate students for volunteer opportunities for various programs and events. Design and purchase promotional items for various programs and events while working closely with local and national vendors to ensure quality. 5% Support the Pittsburg State University Alumni Association Board of Directors as assigned by the Senior Director of Alumni & Constituent Relations. 5% Serve as a key staff member of the Wilkinson Alumni Center. Responsibilities include assistance with setup and tear down of building events, and occasionally staffing the facility during evening and weekend activities. 5% Other duties as assigned by the Director of Alumni & Constituent Relations. Education and Experience: Required Education and Experience at Hire - Bachelor's degree Experience in alumni and constituent relations programming, event planning, marketing, communication, or related field Preferred Education and Experience - Graduate of Pittsburg State University Experience working at Pittsburg State University Screening Services (Background Checks): Your employment with Pittsburg State University is contingent on a satisfactory criminal background check and sex offender check.
