The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Sr. Director within its Quality Advocacy, Research and Innovation (QARI) division. Reporting into the Vice President, Quality Advocacy, Research & Innovation; Post-Acute/Continuing Care, this position has the responsibility to assist in the formulation of HANYS' education and advocacy strategies for the Association's quality agenda; serve as the subject matter expert on federal and state quality reporting program requirements; inform and educate members on new requirements and provide or design clinical and operational best-practices and other member resources. Periodic travel to our headquarters in Rensselaer, New York, will be required, but a remote working environment may be considered within New York State. The expected salary range is between $115,000 and $125,000 annually. Payrate offered will be based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities and in consideration of internal equity. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Working with the Vice President, Senior Directors, and other QARI staff to develop and implement a strategic plan for the HANYS Quality division that supports HANYS organizational goals, including the development of programs, tools, education, communications, and advocacy. Supporting HANYS' Statewide Steering Committee, its subgroups, and HANYS' various quality-related member committees/work groups. Leading or co-leading the research and analysis of newly proposed and/or adopted state and federal quality-related provisions, including proposed rules, legislation, budget initiatives, and regulations, and developing HANYS' positions. Obtaining member input and feedback on various quality-related Association programmatic and policy priorities. Leading or co-leading HANYS' quality, clinical, operational, and professional development offerings. Developing onsite and virtual member education programs, featuring nationally recognized faculty, to assist members in improving patient care and outcomes, compliance, and payment in the rapidly evolving healthcare system. Leading or co-leading the division's communication strategy, including the development of Special Reports, Member Updates, HANYS news articles, PowerPoint presentations, and content to educate members on quality, clinical or operational related issues. Interacting with external agencies and associations, such as the Department of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, American Hospital Association, and other state and healthcare associations. Developing and overseeing grant and contract proposals for local, regional, state, and national funders to advance the mission and goals of HANYS and our members. Being responsive to members' requests by providing timely, accurate, thorough information and support, as needed. Working closely with other Quality division staff and cross-divisional teams on key Association policy priorities. Has supervisory responsibility for employee(s) to include hiring, training, coaching, mentoring staff and conducting performance reviews. Travel within New York and neighboring states to member organizations to provide onsite support may be required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing, hospital administration, healthcare administration, or related healthcare specialization required. Master's degree in these disciplines preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be substituted. 5+ years of healthcare quality reporting, improvement and patient safety experience required. CPHQ certification preferred. Strong federal and state quality reporting program knowledge. Ability to understand, analyze and act upon federal rules, state legislation and regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational/project management skills. Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Moderate travel in NYS with some overnights required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
