SUMMARY : In support of the university's mission and enrollment objectives, the Director of Student Engagement Systems will lead and oversee initiatives that support student retention, engagement, and success through the strategic use of key system platforms. The director will collaborate and partner with key stakeholders as well as with system vendors. This role is critical in creating a cohesive and supportive environment that enhances the student experience from admission through graduation. Platform Management Provides strategic oversight to ensure that each platform aligns with the institution's objectives and delivers a seamless, integrated experience for students and staff. Oversees the implementation, configuration, and ongoing management of student engagement systems ensuring seamless integration across departments with existing systems, enabling efficient data flow and comprehensive reporting. Collaborates with IT and other relevant departments to ensure platforms are optimally configured. Develops, maintains, and trains staff and faculty on best practices for platform usage to enhance student engagement and retention. Cross-Departmental Collaboration Collaborates with Academic Advising, Financial Aid, Career Services, and Student Development, to ensure the effective implementation and integration of the platforms, driving student success and retention. Serves as the primary liaison between IT, academic affairs, and student services for issues related to student engagement technologies and ensures a holistic approach to student engagement. Gathers feedback from faculty, staff, and students on platform usage and effectiveness, ensuring continuous improvement. Coordinates with external vendors and consultants to optimize platform functionality and resolve technical issues. Coordinates efforts with all student-facing PBA departments to maximize their effectiveness through the integration of platform data and insights. Strategic Leadership Drives innovation in student engagement technologies, identifying and implementing new tools and practices to enhance the student experience. Provides leadership and direction to the student engagement team, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and objectives with utilization of the student engagement platforms. Data-Driven Decision Making Analyzes and utilizes data from student engagement platforms to monitor student progress, identify at-risk students, and inform intervention strategies, campaigns, and progress reports. Provides actionable insights to leadership on student engagement trends and opportunities for improvement. Collaborates with institutional research and analytics teams to develop dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to student success. Reports regularly on the impact of engagement initiatives on student retention and success. Budget & Resource Management Manages the budget for Student Engagement technology initiatives, ensuring an efficient and cost-effective deployment of resources. Oversees contracts and service agreements with platform vendors, ensuring alignment with institutional needs and compliance with regulatory requirements. Leads and mentors a team of technical staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment. Seeks and manages external funding opportunities to support student engagement and retention initiatives. Compliance & Security Ensures all student engagement technologies comply with institutional policies, as well as state and federal regulations related to data privacy and security. In conjunction with IT, implements and monitors security protocols to protect sensitive student data across platforms. Minimum Requirements Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Educational Technology, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in higher education or a similar environment. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in student engagement, retention, or student affairs leadership roles. Proficient in the use of technology and platforms related to student engagement and success, such as Navigate 360, Stellic, Suitable, Slate, and PowerFAIDS. Demonstrated success in leading large-scale technology projects from inception to completion. Strong understanding of student success and retention strategies in higher education. Strong background in data-driven decision-making and program development. Proficiency in system integration, data analytics, and reporting tools. Excellent collaboration and leadership skills. Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships effectively. Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as FERPA, GDPR, and others relevant to student data. Visionary leadership with a focus on student-centered outcomes. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
