Position title: Assistant or Associate Dean for Health AI Innovation & Strategy and Director, UCLA Center for AI & Smart Health Salary range: The salary will be commensurate with academic rank and experience. The salary range for this position is $350,000-$650,000. Application Window Open date: November 25, 2024 Next review date: Friday, Dec 27, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Feb 28, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position Description UCLA Health seeks a visionary academic and innovation leader to serve as its Assistant or Associate Dean for Health AI Innovation and Strategy and Director for the UCLA Center for AI and SMART Health. This unique position offers the opportunity to shape and drive AI vision and strategy for the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) and ensure translation of innovation in our renowned Health system. Key Responsibilities: Lead the creation of a strategic plan for health AI research, education, and innovation. Identify large-scale team-science funding opportunities for AI-driven healthcare solutions. Identify translational and commercial opportunities for DGSOM research in health AI. Provide strategic advice to DGSOM leadership on recruitments and educational initiatives related to health AI. Coordinate, promote, and ensure the success of innovation in health AI. Extend DGSOM's commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI). Provide guidance around educational opportunities with the use of AI in medicine. Promote collaboration among DGSOM staff, faculty, and trainees engaged in AI research. Work closely with the Chief Health AI Officer to ensure strategic alignment. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: MD, PhD or equivalent advanced degree required. Preferred Qualifications: Possess appropriate academic credentials for a faculty appointment at UCLA.
