Your key responsibilities As an Offensive Engineer, you'll work with EY's red team operations to develop and support offensive security tooling including command and control (C2), custom payloads, automated testing, and report automation to help bring quality and repeatability to red team assessment. Projects here could include custom development of payloads, Custom C2 development, and troubleshooting/maintaining tooling and exploits. Our professionals work together in planning, pursuing, delivering and managing engagements to assess, improve, build, and in some cases operate integrated security operations for our clients. Skills and attributes for success Development experience with a deep understanding of operating system interaction Experience and knowledge in penetration testing which includes internet, intranet, wireless, web application, social engineering and physical penetration testing. Experience and knowledge in red team operations which include scenario development, infrastructure deployment, common initial access methods, detection evasion, and persistence. Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team of technical testers on penetration testing and red team engagements. Provide technical leadership and advise team members on offensive tool capabilities and limitations. Understand and develop exploits for security vulnerabilities in a wide array of systems in a variety of situations. Perform in-depth analysis of penetration testing results and support development to automate reporting for risks and recommendations. Convey complex technical security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences including executives. To qualify for the role you must have A bachelor's degree and at least 3+ years of related work experience Experience in any of the following languages: C#, Java, Go Experience in any of the following unmanaged languages (e.g. C, C++, Rust, etc.) Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Java, Perl etc.) An in depth understanding of attack and penetration testing Updated and familiarized with the latest exploits and security trends Willingness to be on-site 5 days a week in the greater Washington, DC area Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret-level clearance Ideally, you'll also have A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Unix, any other major operating systems Experience in reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, and exploit development Familiarity with the latest exploits, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), vulnerability remediation and security trends in Cloud implementations Deep understanding of TCP/IP network protocols Understanding of network security and popular attacks vectors Any of the following certifications: GSE, OSCP, OSWP, GPEN, GWAPT, OSED, OSEE, GXPN, GRTP, CRTP, or GDAT. What we offer We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $103,800 to $190,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,600 to $216,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
