Ortho Trauma APC (Advanced Practice ClinicianOrthoVirginia, Virginia's largest provider of expert orthopedic and therapy care, is currently seeking a full-time, licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with surgical experience to join our team! The primary work location will be near Fairfax, VA area and will also support Orthopedic Trauma unit at nearby hospital. You will work collaboratively delivering comprehensive orthopedic trauma and musculoskeletal care. Autonomous position and ability to work at the top of your license. The setting is completely primarily outpatient The position is full time, with evenings and weekend shifts. Benefits and pay range:Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experienceOngoing educational opportunitiesStatewide APC council provides resources and professional growth opportunitiesResponsibilities and Duties:Performs physical examination, compiles medical data and records medical history and implements a treatment plan on new and established patientsPerforms ED and inpatient consultationsCoordinates logistics with ORFirst assist in the operating roomRounds on inpatient trauma patientsOrders appropriate diagnostic studies when indicatedInstructs patients and families regarding treatment plan and medicationsConsults with physician when warranted to assess patient condition and treatmentEnsures that medical charts and administrative paperwork is completed in a timely mannerProvides monitoring and continuity of care upon dischargeProvides follow-up care to patients according to practice guidelinesSupports the patient and family by explaining the procedure experience with specific instructions to the patient and family regarding their responsibility in the outpatient processPerforms within guidelines of specific privileges approved by the governing body and delegated by the collaborating physicianMonitors patients and administers medications according to Facility policyProvides support to medical and office staffKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to assess situations, resolve within scope of ability, or escalate as appropriateAbility to respond effectively to emergencies, actual events or drills.Ability to follow instructions with little supervisionAbility to maintain professional demeanor in all aspects of roleDemonstrates initiative and is a motivated learnerAssists in completing paperwork for patients as indicatedTravels between facilities when indicated, rarelyStrong customer service skills and excellent communication skillsRequirements and Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Program.Must maintain CEU's in pertinent clinical practice according to licensure requirements.ACLS/BLS Certification must be maintained.Trauma or critical care experience required.VA licenseClosing and application instructions:Hiring to take place as soon as possible.
