The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for oversight and improvement of a selected sub-set of Beckman Coulter's component and sub-assembly suppliers. This position reports to the Manager - Supplier Development and is part of the Supplier Quality Group located in Indianapolis and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of problems involving the integration of suppliers' products and services into Beckman's manufacturing processesInvestigate and analyze technical issues relating to quality, tooling and supplier manufacturing. Provide technical consultation to internal and external suppliers for the selection of manufacturing processesReview validation reports and/or first article submissions for new supplied components. Determine supplier performance targets and review supplier on-going manufacturing performance against set targetsThe essential requirements of the job include:Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline3+ years of relevant experience, primarily focused on the design, manufacturing, and quality of component partsCompetent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at a minimum)Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:Up to 25% travel, overnight, within territory or locationsMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to lift, move or carry equipment up to 30lb, It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Strong problem solving skills and familiarity with techniques such as 5 why's, 8D, pareto analysis, Design of Experiments, DMAIC, and others.Basic understanding of statistical tools and their application to manufacturing processes (ie, process capability studies, establishing process control limits, etc)Self-starter with a sense of urgency to resolve issues and complete projectsJoin our winning team today.
