In this position, you will join an elite professional team to complete an interior retrofit construction project. You will thrive in this position if you have experience overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work on mid-sized commercial buildings. We are looking for candidates with great communication skills, general construction software knowledge including Autodesk Build, and a positive, can-do attitude. This is the perfect role for you if you enjoy managing challenging and rewarding projects.Responsibilities Overseeing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels. Overseeing work among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation. Resolving local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule and all other appropriate matters. Managing the site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with relevant standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations. Supervising and developing Field Engineers and/or interns, as assigned, including providing input on or completing performance appraisals. Creating schedules and determining sequencing of work. Developing and implementing recovery strategies to maintain project schedule. Communicating with owners and architects/engineers in connection with field issues. Investigating and resolving such issues. Overseeing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.Managing the billing process as it relates to work-in-place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.Having complete knowledge of all contracts, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, show drawings, schedules, labor agreements and local codes.Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.Preferred Skills and ExpertiseAt least 7 years of experience in commercial construction oversight.Experience working with Autodesk Build software.Previous experience monitoring schedule progression over mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty contractors. Must have full suite MEP experience.Capable of overseeing intricate glass and ceiling work for offices and storefronts.Experience building corporate offices and retail interiors. Knowledge of state and local electrical codes and relevant building regulations.Experience providing oversight on MEP.Basic computer skills and ability to communicate effectively in person and with distributed teams.Must be local to New York City or surrounding area. No per diem is offered for this position.The compensation range for this role is $60-$65/hr.
