Job DetailsAre you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.Grand Palms Resort - Surfside Beach, SCFull Time$17.00 - $17.00DescriptionPerforms skilled carpenter duties related to the installation, preventative maintenance and repair of windows, doors, cabinetry, and other features of Resort condominiums and common areas. Frequent projects include window and door installation, wall trim/ crown molding installation, and furniture repair as directed by management.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSKnowledge and skillsAbility to locate and correct emergency carpentry problems.Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.Ability to maintain accurate tracking of work time and materials used to complete a work order.General sense of guest needs and overall participation in enhancing guest experience.Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.Computer and Technical SkillsPosition requires basic computer skills and working knowledge and experience in using e-mail and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Skill with electronic devices such as iPhone and iPad is preferred.Experience in utilizing on-line work order systems preferred.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEEducationHigh school or equivalent requiredFour (4) years of professional trade experience in carpentry, maintenance and repair.Must have extensive knowledge of standard practices, methodology, techniques and requirements of the carpentry trade.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSThe individual must have a valid driver's license in good standing and be deemed eligible by company insurance to operate company insured motor vehicles or golf cart (SC Law requires a driver's license to operation a golf cart).Must have a valid SC driver's license as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment &/or personnel when needed. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Will be required to bend, twist, reach, push, pull, walk stairs, climb ladders and operate office machinery. Must be able to lift up to as well as carry equipment weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds. Specific work assignments may change without notice. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.WORKING CONDITIONSMust be able to perform manual labor and work outside in all types of weather. Must be able to work in close quarters, climb ladders/stairs, enter/exit hatches and lift/operate heavy equipment. Must be able to work in areas of excessive heat/cold and lift or move furniture, objects and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.WORK SCHEDULE/HOURSSchedules will vary depending on business needs, and may entail working nights, weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work outside of departmental operating hours.Overtime and call back work is required after normal working hours and on weekends, as needed.
