LICENSED PLUMBER/ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANCheck all associated application documentation thoroughly before clicking on the apply button at the bottom of this description.Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Renovations Manager, the Licensed Plumber/Assistant Maintenance Technician performs plumbing and other maintenance work across campus and works as part of the Facilities team to maintain systems.Job Specific DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.•Services, repairs, and installs all parts of the plumbing and heating systems•Inspects plumbing, heating, gas piping, HVAC piping, and related components to identify hazards, defects, the need for repair, and to ensure compliance with codes•Is responsible for renovation installations of plumbing from rough to finish. This includes but is not limited to apartments, kitchens, mechanical rooms, and other areas, as needed•Obtains permits and handles inspections from Town of Needham•Completes and closes out work orders daily•Perform preventive maintenance audits as directed•Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment•Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements•Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment•Repairs and installs apartment appliances including dishwashers, disposals, ice makers, stoves, etc.•Unplugs drains and ensures operation of bathroom facilities; perform other minor plumbing repairs•Performs routine maintenance and repair of the facility and equipment to include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, snow removal, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established maintenance policies and procedures•Maintains and orders plumbing parts and components to perform repairs and needed preventive maintenance•Responds to radio calls promptly and professionally•Assists in renovation work, as needed. This includes specific duties or general laborer tasks•Assists in furniture and equipment moving, setup, and general labor tasks, as needed•Repairs doors, replaces ceiling panels, and performs other basic carpentry duties•Picks up and delivers maintenance supplies and orders parts and supplies as authorized.Assists in inventory as requested•Assists in snow plowing, hand shoveling, and removal operations, as needed•Performs duties of security guard as needed•Performs duties accordance with safety regulations and department policies and procedures•Participates in training programs and initiatives as required•Complies with all safety and environmental procedures, including hazardous control, lockout - tag out programs, educational and regulatory compliances and other building awareness programs•Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements•Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environmentSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneRequired Skills and Abilities•Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills•Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards•Ability to work independently with limited supervision•Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds•Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public•When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English•Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directedEducation and Experience•Massachusetts Licensed Journeymen or Master Plumber•Completion of technical school program or apprenticeship program•High School Diploma or equivalent•Must have and maintain a valid driver's license•Familiar with computer software programsWork Environment•This position requires off-shift work hours (as needed), required rotating holidays, occasional weekends, and on-call coverage•Minimal local travel is expected for this position to procure parts and supplies for maintenance projects•May be subject to work during emergencies such as inclement weather, evaluation and other disasters•May be asked to stay onsite for 24 or more hours until emergency ends•Assistance may be necessary during the evacuation of Residents during emergency situationsOther Duties as RequiredNorth Hill OffersFree mealsFree parkingFree on-site fitness centerState-of-the-art work environmentEmployee referral programHealth & Dental Benefits401(k) with company matchCareer Development TrainingTuition ReimbursementNorth Hill is committed to providing equal opportunity for employment and advancement to all team members and potential team members.
