Licensed Plumber/Assistant Maintenance Technician

LICENSED PLUMBER/ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANCheck all associated application documentation thoroughly before clicking on the apply button at the bottom of this description.Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Renovations Manager, the Licensed Plumber/Assistant Maintenance Technician performs plumbing and other maintenance work across campus and works as part of the Facilities team to maintain systems.Job Specific DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.•Services, repairs, and installs all parts of the plumbing and heating systems•Inspects plumbing, heating, gas piping, HVAC piping, and related components to identify hazards, defects, the need for repair, and to ensure compliance with codes•Is responsible for renovation installations of plumbing from rough to finish. This includes but is not limited to apartments, kitchens, mechanical rooms, and other areas, as needed•Obtains permits and handles inspections from Town of Needham•Completes and closes out work orders daily•Perform preventive maintenance audits as directed•Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment•Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements•Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment•Repairs and installs apartment appliances including dishwashers, disposals, ice makers, stoves, etc.•Unplugs drains and ensures operation of bathroom facilities; perform other minor plumbing repairs•Performs routine maintenance and repair of the facility and equipment to include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, snow removal, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established maintenance policies and procedures•Maintains and orders plumbing parts and components to perform repairs and needed preventive maintenance•Responds to radio calls promptly and professionally•Assists in renovation work, as needed.
