Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.What are we looking for?The2025 Summer Intern - Geotechnical Engineeringwill be pursuing a Summer Internship / Semester Co-Op who are in the process of completing a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, Geology or closely related field.Salary & Benefits Information:Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related duties.In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.What you'll do:Assist in classifying soil samples and various geotechnical laboratory testingAssist in preparing work order for drilling operationAssist in preparing gINT boring logs and location plansAssist the drilling team with field loggingAssist in field electrical resistivity testingPerform a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.Operate testing equipment and conduct various testing procedures to provide data through reportingWork utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagramsUse specific methods to observe site activities, follow testing procedures, and perform tasksMake detailed observations and give limited interpretation of resultsMaintain detailed documentation and data from test resultsOperate a calculator to formulate mathematical test resultsCommunicate effectively with client and project teamsThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, (or closely related field) at an accredited UniversityValid driver's license and reliable driving record is requiredAbility to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequentlyAbility to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in soundAbility to kneel and squat occasionallyAbility to walk and stand for long periods of timeIntertek: Total Quality.
