The electrician must ensure all work complies with national [NEC] and local electrical codes while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and quality.Some Key Responsibilities Include:Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including; switch gear, transformers, wiring, conduit runs, panels and sub panels, circuit breakers, outlets, and lighting fixtures.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions.Ensure all work complies with NEC (National Electrical Code) and local building codes.Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.Assist with installation of plant equipment including automations, compressors, motors, HVAC, etc.Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals on construction and renovation projects.Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning.Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and compliance reports.Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.Bring problems to the attention of appropriate DeRoyal personnel.Assists manager in performing special projects.Assists other people on the job sites as needed including construction projects.Qualifications & Requirements:Valid state electrician's license.Working knowledge of electrical power distribution in an industrial setting.High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.Can operate standard construction equipment [scissor lift, boom or man lift, telehandler, etc. and no fear of heights.Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical installation and repair.Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety procedures, and industry regulations.Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.Experience with hand and power tools related to electrical work.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Ability to lift heavy equipment when necessary.Valid driver's license (if required for travel).Preferred Qualifications:Certification in specialized electrical systems (e.g., solar, industrial automation).Experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.Knowledge of plant automation systems including PLC, motors [AC, DC, servo, stepper, etc.], controls [VFD, motor controller, thermostat, etc.], and other advanced systems.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must possess mechanical aptitude and have the ability to multi-task multiple projects. Electrician certification is required.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of vendors, contractors or employees of organization.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIESExposure to forklifts and scissor lifts required.Other detailsPay TypeHourly
