H2M architects + engineersWhile professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required., a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm with offices in NY, NJ and CTseeks a dynamicMunicipalPractice Leadertogrow, develop,supportand enhance ourservicesworkin a Doer-Seller role.The successful candidate willprovideprojectmanagementexpertise, business development, client relationship management and coordination ofmunicipal civil engineering serviceswithinourWindsorConnecticutoffice.Theywillbe responsibleforstrategicallygrowing business development effortsalongwith leading and supportingprojectsand growing acivilteam to support the work.Job ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development/Operations/Project Management ResponsibilitiesGrow,develop and leadH2Mcivilengineeringrelated initiatives to expand and diversify the company'smunicipalclient base;collaboratewith others on the development of clients and businessdevelopmentopportunities.Work with market/BD/discipline leaders within the firm to further develop and enhance client relationships withmunicipalities.Support the development and performance of projects across various other H2M markets (education, energy, water/wastewater, public agencies, real estate).Maintain and develop relationships with a diverse group of existing and prospective clients;utilizethe resources of H2M staff as internal contacts for new leadswhen suitable;operatein a team environment collaborating with others on the development of clients and business opportunities.Collaborates withcivil discipline leadershipandprovides direction tostaff inthepursuit and delivery of new work for thereal estatemarketanddiscipline.Provides technical leadership and oversight on the management on projects; works with other managers,civil engineers, landscape architects, environmentalplanners, and staff in developingscope of work,budgets, schedules, and plans forcivilrelated work.Motivate,manageand mentorcivilstaffin CT and otherareas to support the growth of thecivil discipline.Commit time to understanding overall discipline/market performance drivers.Performsand managesmunicipalcivil engineering projects and secures entitlements and plan approvals from agencies havingjurisdictions.Responsible for the successful financial performance of projects managed.Respond to requests of others as needed and set up a communication protocol for existing and future clients to ensureexpectationsare met.This includes communication withprojectmanagers within thediscipline/market.Participate in trade shows and be active in industry/relevant associations,including but not limited to,serving on committees, etc.Prepare/coordinate proposals in conjunction with the marketing and technical staff.Assistwith"Go/No Go" decisionsfor responding to RFP's. Marshall the necessary resources on proposal opportunities which may involve developing a proposal strategy, writing portions of the proposal,and coordinating efforts of other technical writers to develop a winning proposal.Perform other responsibilities as needed to ensure the success ofcivil-siteprojects andbusiness developmentefforts.EducationandQualificationsBachelor'sdegreeinCivilEngineeringrequired.Must be a licensed professional engineer inConnecticut.Min.15+years ofdemonstratedmanagerial-level,civilsite engineering, land development, andproject managementexperienceofmid tolarge-scaleprojects.Thisexperienceshouldincludepreviousbusiness developmentexperienceanddemonstratedabilitytogrow and manageclient relations(servinginternal/external clients).Must be able to generate new business from existing and new clients.Knowledge and understanding of seller/doer business model withpublicsector clients.Ability to coordinate resource needs formunicipal civilengineeringprojectsuccessand work collaboratively with teams in multiple disciplines and offices.Strongtechnical background instormwater management,and local municipal infrastructuredesign.Extensive knowledge and understandingofConnecticutstate, county and localmunicipalregulationsand requirementswhichimpactland developmententitlementsand permitting.Must have strong management/supervisory skills tolead a group of technical staff at various levels.Ability to effectively delegate responsibilities when necessary to marshal proposals, keep existing clients satisfied and help find new work.Knowledge of MS suite including Word, Excel, Power Point.Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.Ability to communicate effectively and develop/deliverpresentations to groups.Excellent written and oral communication skillsThesalary rangefor this role is $140,000 - $170,000 annually.The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications - not related to an y applicant's characteristicsprotected by local, state or federal law.Note: The salary or hourly rate indicated does not include other forms of compensationor benefits.Pushing boundaries, redefining design.About H2M:While we have grown into a large firm over the past 90 plus years, we remain dedicated to preserving our small company connections.
