Over the years, CES expanded its services to include utility management, construction at-risk, and civil engineering services.Check below to see if you have what is needed for this opportunity, and if so, make an application asap.We are hiring a Utilities Engineer for our Civil Engineering practice in Maryland.Position Summary:Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Utility Engineer/ Civil Engineer is responsible for the design & construction of various types of utility systems. You will prepare plans and specifications, direct drafting work as needed, and coordinate designs with different types of utilities on transportation projects. Prior experience in electric systems and duct bank design is preferred.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Interact with personnel, contractors, regulatory representatives, and residents in a positive, collaborative and team-building manner.Learn the preparation of design deliverables for underground utility lines including plan and profiles, calculations, pulling calculations, material selection, duct bank design, riser structure design, horizontal directional drilling design and construction specifications in compliance with safety, environmental and industry/client standards and policies.Learn to review and approve drawings and material lists developed by designers.Develop project estimates and schedules, evaluate design options and criteria for technical merit, and conduct field visits to verify routing conditions and parameters.Learn to review drawings.Become a lead for efforts specific to underground line civil work such as: Horizontal Directional Drilling, Jack & Bores; micro-tunneling; other trenchless technologies, Bridge attachments design, Duct Bank and manhole loading calculationsLearn standards such as ANSI, ASTM & ASCE, NAD/NAVD, ACI, AISC, ASCE, AWS, CRSI, and OSHA.Prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.Manage the Utility Relocation plans.Education, Certifications, and ExperienceThe Utility/Civil Engineer's minimum qualifications for this role include the following:Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or similar engineering field)5-10 years of relevant engineering experiencePE eligibility within the United StatesCAD design and drafting � AutoCAD and/or MicrostationExperience with working in a team settingProactive communication skills, both oral and writtenPreferred QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have any of the following:PE CertificationDemonstrated experience handling Utility and Transportation projectsExperience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.Ability to use Excel, Access and/or similar products to query, manipulate, and analyze dataExperience working oftentimesindependentlywhile maintaining positive, effective relationships within a cohesiveteamenvironmentAbility to function/interact effectively with vendors to troubleshoot issuesAbility to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects.CES Consulting, LLC offers excellent career opportunities for continued professional, educational, and personal growth.
