Manages the firm's resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude. Teaches and mentors staff and effectively embodies and expresses the firm's values and mission.Responsibilities:Develops and manages initial design concepts and branding strategies in conjunction with owner requirements and project market positionContinues to develop interiors concepts based on client vision, desire and architectural conceptUtilizes creative thinking to achieve innovative solutionsPrepares detailed implementation documents, designs, plans, models and schemesAssists in supervising the preparation of design details and implementation documents by project teamCollaborates on all phases of the design process for respective project(s) including programming client needs, conceptual and schematic design, design development and construction document preparationLeads the management and/or documentation effort for respective interiors project(s) of varying sizes with minimal guidanceShares accountability for managing project program documents, schedules and finances to keep the project on scheduleEffectively documents and conveys design requirements and design solutions to the broader design and construction teamCollaborates in developing solutions to technical and design detail problemsCoordinates client presentations and public hearings as neededExercises skills of persuasion and negotiation on critical issuesCollaborates in the development of cost estimates for design proposalsCoordinates with project team on review and approval of final interior and exterior programming, design development documents, construction documents, furnishings selections and purchases, RFIs and submittalsCommunicates with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to incorporate all information into project requirementsParticipates in product presentations to maintain knowledge of industry drivers, products and materials available on the marketParticipates in and leads team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplinesMay prepare meeting minutesQualifications:Education and ExperienceAccredited professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related fieldTypically 8+ years of experienceLicenses and CertificationsNCIDQ certification requiredSustainable design accreditation preferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced - expert-level experience, knowledge or skillsIntermediate - experience, knowledge or skills required to produce high-quality solutions or workBasic - familiar with primary concepts or capabilities and can perform elementary functionsAdvanced experience and skills in Revit, Bluebeam, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign requiredAdvanced experience in Twinmotion, Enscape or other visualization tools requiredIntermediate experience and skills in Rhino, Grasshopper and Dynamo; advanced preferredIntermediate skills in AI design tools and virtual reality such as VR headsets and Yulio requiredIntermediate skills in MS Office Suite preferredBasic knowledge of furniture specifications software required, and of Navisworks preferredIntermediate knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines requiredIntermediate knowledge of building codes and ability to research and incorporate into technical documents requiredIntermediate experience with FF&E to carry out design intent requiredIntermediate experience with managing and performing duties in a fast-paced environment preferredIntermediate ability to manage team with diplomatic leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and external, requiredIntermediate ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships requiredIntermediate presentation skills requiredIntermediate organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time requiredIntermediate ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing preferredIntermediate ability to problem solve and apply innovative solutions requiredIntermediate ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment requiredAdvanced ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality requiredTravel may be requiredBase Salary Range:$93k - $126kannually - Los Angeles location onlyThe estimate displayed represents the general base salary range of candidates hired in the Los Angeles location only.
