JMT, is currently ranked #61 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.If you are considering sending an application, make sure to hit the apply button below after reading through the entire description.Position summary:JMT is seeking a Construction Manager to be responsible for managing the construction of multiple public sector projects.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain excellent relationships with clients, building occupants, architects/engineers, and contractorsCoordinate City or County building inspectionsManage project schedule from inception to close outRun and document project job-site meetingsReview contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specificationsReview and approve contractor monthly requisitions and invoicesEfficient change order management and cost controlReport on project issues and provide status updatesPerform other duties as may be requiredRequired SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsEffective leadership skills for managing and mentoring field staffAbility to take charge and effectively manage contractors to meet project scheduleKnowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 10HR OSHA Safety cardThe ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environmentAbility to evaluate contractor provided construction CPM schedules, including logic and sequencingRequired ExperienceMinimum of ten years of construction experience serving as a Construction Manager, Construction Management Representative, Owner's Representative or Construction Project EngineerExperience with construction of vertical complex projects that involved the active management, oversight and/or inspection of multiple construction trades and close coordination with the Government/Owner on construction issues.Experience with construction of horizontal projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater, site civil and road components.Knowledge and experience working with Public Sector's project costs and budgets, processing change requests, requests for information, submittals, and field observation reportsExperience using PROCORE to communicate construction progress and process documentation.Experience using MS Excel or related cost estimating software to develop Independent Cost Estimates for change order negotiationsExperience reviewing engineering designs, contractor shop drawings and/or vendor specifications and plans, or similar, to determine constructability and practicality of proposed work and adherence to established standards and requirementsPreferred ExperienceBachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction ManagementEngineering in Training (EIT), Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Project Management Professional (PMP)Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety trainingWorking ConditionsWork is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
