Information provided is handled with discretion and will be used purely for benefit of employment with various government agency clients and associated background checks.This position will be full-time,Hybrid. Candidates are expected to live in or near theNew York metropolitanarea.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESinclude, but are not limited to:Oversee all phases of construction involving fire-protection and life-safety requirements for underground, surface, and elevated fixed guideway transit and passenger rail systems, including stations, train ways, emergency ventilation systems, and communications and control systems associated with major ongoing civil construction projects.Ensure all field personnel act in accordance to project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations, including conducting regular quality and safety inspections.Create and enforce construction schedules, budgets, and resource plans with emphasis on achieving project milestones and deliverables.Oversee the handling of all on-site materials including vendor supplies and excavation products; ensure proper disposal of hazardous or contaminated soil and materials.Discern areas of risk, and convey effective risk management strategies to mitigate potential project setbacks related to construction activities and environmental challengesParticipate in update meetings to relay and address client and stakeholder concerns; prepare project progress reports to be discussed at meetings.Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion.Other related duties and tasks as requiredQUALIFICATIONSinclude, but are not limited to, the following:Bachelor's Degreefrom an accredited college or university with a major in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required.Minimum of15 yearsof progressive experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on rail, transit, system, track, signals, traction power, installation, testing, commissioning, etc.Experience working with rail transit systems on tunnel projectsRequired .Experience with NFPA-130 regulations and guidelinesRequired .Experience with fire-protection and life-safety requirements for underground, surface, and elevated fixed guideway transit and passenger rail systems, including stations, train ways, emergency ventilation systems, and communications and control systemsRequired .NJ Transit, MTA, or Amtrak safety training, is a plus but training will be provided, if required.Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.)Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High LevelValid drivers license may be required depending on site locationStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of timeMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust be fluent in English (both written and spoken)Remote working/work at home options are available for this role.
