The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the construction and assembly of set pieces for theatrical performances.RequirementsEssential Job FunctionsRegular ActivitiesCollaborate with the production team to ensure all elements align with the creative visionEnsure all work meets safety standards and is executed within the designated timeline and budgetSupervise and train volunteers, fostering a collaborative and safety conscious environmentMaintain an organized workspace and oversee the storage and maintenance of tools and materialsAssist in the load-in and strike process for productionsTroubleshoot and resolve any technical or structural issues that arise during the productionQualificationsEducation and ExperienceProven experience as a master carpenter or in a similar role within theatrical productionStrong knowledge of woodworking, construction techniques, and stagecraftAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and plansSkills and AbilitiesStrong leadership qualities and mentoring skillsExcellent skills in communicating both orally and in written formAble to work both independently and in a team settingDemonstrated ability to lead by exampleCore CharacteristicsCommitment to loving and serving Jesus Christ and supporting the school's missionAbility to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentPositive, flexible, resourceful and solution-orientedAble to understand, love, and relate to studentsMust be active (or pursuing) community in a local Christian body of believersMust have compatible theology in line with TKA's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle AgreementWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsWork will be performed at the set shop off campus and in the theater on campusMay occasionally have to lift up to 30 poundsWork is generally performed,August - AprilDays/hours vary based on production (includes nights and weekends).The months listed are approximate, and the annual start and end date will be dictated by the school calendar and the department's needs.Salary & BenefitsPay Grid:Master CarpenterPay Grid Range:$1,100 - $2,600 per productionThe amount listed above represents the pay for the entire production based on the routine hours that are expected to be worked. The actual pay will be determined by (1) applicable years of experience, (2) type of production being produced and (3) level of the production being produced. The starting pay listed reflects this position's minimum pay .This job may be eligible as an Independent Contractor if the applicant qualifies per the ABC Independent Contractor test and has a valid business license.
