We are seeking a skilled Document Examiner to join our team. This role is responsible for reviewing and processing import, export, and standby letter of credit drawings while ensuring full compliance with established policies, procedures, and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in documentary examination and a strong understanding of Uniform Customs and Practice (UCP) guidelines.Key ResponsibilitiesIs this your next job Read the full description below to find out, and do not hesitate to make an application. Conduct a second review of assigned Documentary Examiners' work. Provide training, guidance, and development for new examiners. Ensure that assigned Document Examiners follow established procedures. Distribute work to examiners as directed by the Payment Manager. Maintain technical skills and stay informed of industry developments. Assist the Section Manager and complete assignments as instructed. Act as an authorized signatory when applicable. Examine import and export documents presented against letters of credit. Process payments for complying documents. Create bankers' acceptances under letters of credit. Obtain internal and/or customer approvals and instructions as required. Maintain complete and accurate transaction records. Generate outgoing telecommunications regarding document refusals and payment notices. Meet departmental productivity standards and personal KPIs. Ensure all work complies with Trade Finance policies, procedures, bank policies, and regulatory requirements. Investigate and resolve Account Officer or customer-related issues. Responsible for releasing payments and correspondence for other examiners.Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Strong technical background in letters of credit. Minimum of five years of experience in documentary examinations. Thorough knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, ICC Publication 600, and subsequent revisions. Excellent leadership, managerial, and communication skills. Ability to use automated systems. Experience in reconciling letter of credit liabilities, outstanding bankers' acceptances, and steamship guarantees. Proficient in MS Office.Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary: $65,000 - $80,000. Eligible for incentive compensation based on performance.
