Position Title: Do you have the following skills, experience and drive to succeed in this role Find out below.Senior Architectural Design Manager (School Construction / Renovation Projects) Owners Team Client / Program:Los Angeles Unified School District - A/E Services Position Location:Downtown Los Angeles Position Start Date:Approximately April to May Salary $222,560 to $228,800 per year as a full-time employee, depending on experience, plus full company benefits, including 10 paid vacation days, 11 paid holidays, and 5 paid sick days, company medical insurance, and 401K plan DACM Project Management, Inc. is a full-service program and project construction management company established in 1987. Position Overview: The successful candidate for this position will be assigned to the LAUSD Facilities A/E Services Program Position Functions:Manage multiple projects with particular emphasis on seismic, critical repair and retrofitprojectsManage and supervise a team of design professionals and other professionals through thedesign review processManage, develop, and coordinate the District's design process for the A&E services toensure that design plans are within functional program, budgetary, environmental and legalrequirementsManage multiple projects, including engineering repair and critical repair, through interactionwith Architects, consultants, and District personnel to ensure timely completion of theseprojectsOversee the building design process to ensure compliance with LAUSD's standards andguidelines for the District by working with design professionals and various Districtadministrators to ensure that new and modernized structures meet both educational andbuilding standards requirementsEstablish and follow a process to identify and select the architectural firm best suited foreach project based on the firms' qualifications and ability to meet performance standardsProvide Architects with clear and consistent direction with regard to goals and objectives,standards, sites, schedules, and budgets for each projectEstablish and follow an effective and efficient design review process to ensure that thedesign meets the overall goals and objectives for each projectProvide maximum value for dollars budgeted, and are appropriate and enduring to meet thefunctional needs of the District, the local community, and the environmentReview design changes submitted to ensure project remains within budgetMonitor project planning and design status to report findings, recommendations and updatesPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Required Qualifications: Required Experience: 14 years full time paid professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planningand coordination of capital projects that included the overall design, contract administration,cost estimating, and scheduling activities 4 years of this experience must be with the design, planning and construction of educationalfacilities or similar public agencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture orengineering Preferred Education: A master's degree in architecture or engineering Preferred Licenses and Certificates: A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Boardor Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
