Job Overview:This position is responsible for analyzing engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout and assembly of custom lifts and overhead cranes. Ability to read prints layout and fabricate according to specifications. Recognize and repair visual defects and report any quality concerns. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following safety procedures/regulations. Willingness to perform and learn other production functions.Responsibilities:• Follow all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment Assemble parts according to standard work, bill of materials, work order instructions, and assembly drawings for units being assembled.• Assemble complete unit or sub-assembly of intricate apparatus using hand tools or power equipment to obtain proper fittings. Test product for compliance to meet specifications using manual or automatic testing equipment.• Label and pack completed products for shipment. Must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, positioners, and hoists.• Provide information on mechanical, pneumatic and electrical malfunctions on custom lifts and cranes being assembled to the area supervisor for immediate corrective actions. Update and submit to area supervisor work order pick lists for material consumed for kitting.• Maintain work area in accordance with 6s standards. Willing to participate in continuous learning opportunities as part of job and personal development.• Submit to area supervisor material requisitions for material not included on work order pick lists as necessary. Notify supervisor of non-conformance materials. Identify and report all safety issues to the supervisor.• Cross-train across multiple product lines; able to work independently on the line with limited required training, supervisor oversight and/or support while consistently meeting productivity and quality levels. Responsible to train others as needed.• Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • At least 2+ (two) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machines. • At least 3+ or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, technical parts manuals such as electrical and mechanical diagrams, gages, meters, calipers, and other measuring tools. • At least 3+ or more years of experience utilizing hand and power tools including, but not limited to: drill, saw, torch, and jacks, as well as ladders, cranes, fork lift, and other equipment. • Demonstrated proficiency with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Core Competencies: • Mechanical Aptitude & Technical Skills: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with precision tools and industrial processes, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.• Teamwork & Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders, including knowledge of industrial communication protocols.• Attention to Detail & Performance Focus: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed performance standards, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.• Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Resourceful, flexible, and proactive in solving complex problems, with the ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.• Customer Service & Organizational Skills: Strong customer service orientation, providing dedicated internal support while managing multiple priorities and contributing to personal and professional development.Preferences:• High School Diploma or GED preferred.• Familiar with and utilizes Lean principles, 6s and supports lean events as well as process improvements preferred.• Previous experience operating a forklift preferred.• Experience assembling lifts and cranes preferred. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles and vibration from hammering of parts and using hand tools. • Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs.
