Position: HR GeneralistIncrease your chances of an interview by reading the following overview of this role before making an application.Company: Sendik's Fine Foods, an MRA memberLocation: Brookfield, WISUMMARYThis position combines HR functional knowledge with the technical expertise of HR systems to achieve process and system efficiencies, and best practices. Duties include assisting with the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions. Processing payroll, new hire orientations, onboarding, benefits administration, COBRA, FMLA, employee training, and maintaining employee records. Provides support to the Human Resources Manager and executive leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.Maintain optimal function of the HRIS software, ADP Workforce Now. Streamlining HR processes, including: recruitment, onboarding, payroll, time and attendance, benefits administration, compliance, and reports. Ensure accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing. Perform/complete payroll transactions include entering new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, garnishments, benefit deductions, year-end reporting, and compliance. Audit timecards to check for accuracy. Audit employee timekeeping and attendance tracking. Making sure the company is compliant with Child Labor Laws, monitoring hours for part-time and full-time status, and addressing any issues accordingly. Conduct new employee orientations and onboarding process.Conduct benefit orientations. Monitor waiting period for new employees eligible for benefits and conduct benefit meetings. Ensure employees complete all benefit paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Process completed paperwork according to procedures and enroll with the appropriate carriers. Prepare new hire packets and benefit eligibility packets.Maintain employee personnel, medical and payroll files. Keeping employee records up to date.Administer COBRA insurance, ensuring timely and accurate processing of information according to compliance guidelines.Ensure compliance while administering FMLA. Tracking leave of absences and maintaining required documentation. Includes tracking of Sendik's Leave of Absence.Administer all benefits programs: life, health, dental, vision, disability insurances, and 401(k) plan. To include enrolling and terminating benefits online with appropriate insurance carriers. Assist with open enrollment process. Respond to employees' questions regarding the Company's health and welfare benefit programs.Respond to Verification of Employment requests. Provide broad human resources support to employees in various areas including responding to inquiries regarding policies and procedures.Prepare employee separation forms and related documentation. Process changes accordingly in ADP and other internal tracking systems.Conduct and coordinate all aspects of safety and OSHA training programs while ensuring compliance.Track and maintain all training files and databases. Responsible for tracking safety certifications and renewals. Oversee the process for successful completion of testing and certification, including development of rosters and schedules.Administer all aspects of workers' compensation. Maintain injury records. Complete First Report of Injury form, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Investigate as necessary. File claim(s) with carrier. Maintain OSHA 300 logs for annual posting and other reporting.Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all Human Resources related records. Including personnel related information, benefits records, medical, I-9 Forms, payroll, affirmative action/equal employment related records, OSHA/workers' compensation related records and any employee related matters. Keep up to date on government regulations affecting company policies and human resource practices. QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High attention to detail and accuracy is imperative. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEThis position requires at minimum a high school diploma, or an associate's degree in business administration, and a minimum of five years' related experience in the field. A minimum of five years' experience with ADP Workforce Now platform is preferred.MATHMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures such as various payroll deductions or adjustments. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITYAbility to interpret technical instructions, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. COMPUTER SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Human Resource systems, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office. Experience with ADP Workforce Now platform preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe position is primarily an office-based position with occasional visits to the sales floor.
