Job Title: Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Teacher**Find out more about the daily tasks, overall responsibilities, and required experience for this opportunity by scrolling down now.Location: Community Child Guidance Clinic School, Manchester, CT Reports to: Lead TeacherEmployment Type: Temporary/Part-Time Work Schedule**: Monday - Friday beginning on July 7, 2025 ending on August 15, 2025, 8:30 am - 3:30 pmOverview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities during the summer months. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of educators and support staff to implement individualized education programs (IEPs), ensuring that students receive the educational support they need to maintain and enhance their learning during the summer break.Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, focusing on goals related to academic, social, and emotional development.- Conduct assessments to guide instruction and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to meet individual needs.- Create a structured, engaging, and positive learning environment that fosters independence, social interactions, and overall growth.- Collaborate with related service providers (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists) to integrate services into the educational experience.- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and families to provide updates on student progress and involve them in the educational process.- Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings to enhance instructional practices and knowledge of special education.- Maintain accurate and thorough records of student performance, attendance, and incident reports, as required by school district policies and state regulations.- Implement behavioral management strategies to promote positive behavior and address challenges in the classroom.Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).- Valid teaching certification in Special Education through State of CT- Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom setting, particularly during ESY programs, is a plus.- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to diverse educational settings.- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.- Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.Join our team and make a difference in the lives of students with special needs this summer!
